HILLSBOROUGH BASEBALL
NORM HEWITT TOUCH ALL BASES
SUNDAY BASEBALL PROGRAM

The Hillsborough Baseball League is committed to providing a recreational baseball program to all children who want to play; and the League sponsors Spring, Summer and Fall recreational leagues in support of that purpose.  For those players who are serious about baseball and looking for additional opportunities to learn & to play, Hillsborough Baseball is proud to be teaming up with Norm Hewitt to introduce the Touch All Bases Sunday Baseball Program for its 7U, 8U & 9U Leagues.

Coach Hewitt is the Head Baseball Coach at Hillsborough High School and has over 40 years coaching experience.  He has been named Coach of the Year 7 times, including New Jersey Coach of the Year twice and National Coach of the Year by the NFHSC in 2005.  He has accumulated 571 wins during his career and has proudly participated in 14 Somerset County Finals.  Norm is most proud of the great players he has coached and their accomplishments and contributions as outstanding citizens.  Coach Hewitt has placed and assisted over 130 players into the collegiate ranks.  He has also coached 14 future All Americans, and has had 3 pitchers drafted from his high school programs.  Five of his players have reached the professional ranks.

Coach Hewitt has graciously offered to assist Hillsborough Baseball in the development of our players and will be administering this program with the assistance of current and former players and coaches from his High School program.

This Program is provided at No Cost to players BUT any player registering for this program is expected to attend all sessions.  During the registration process you can indicate weeks that you know the player will not be able to attend because of scheduled vacations or other events.  But otherwise, barring unforeseen circumstances like illness, every player registered is expected to attend each session.  This is important so that Coach Hewitt can ensure he has the right number of Coaches and players available to assist.

Through this program, the League is investing in the development of our players.  Based on the success of this program in 2011, the League will look to expand it in 2012 and forward.

PLEASE READ ::  All three Programs are providing Professional Instruction for the serious baseball player.  This program is intended for players who want to play baseball at a higher level and are willing to learn and train.  Parents are encouraged to come prepared to listen and participate.  And this is not a child-care program -- no player can be left at a session without an adult responsible for him/her at the field (one parent may be responsible for multiple un-related children).
