HBL Tournament Team Fundraising Guidelines
(Revised for 2017 season)

Travel Fundraising Guidelines

  • All payments must be made in the form of a check to the Hillsborough Baseball League.
  • All plans must be presented to the HBL board in writing prior to presenting at meeting.
  • Once passing initial approval, idea must be presented to board in person at a regularly scheduled board meeting.

Any solicitation of HBL sponsors (donated in the past two years) requires HBL Board approval prior to solicitation.  If a team has a relationship with a current HBL sponsor and the sponsor wants to donate to the team instead of HBL, the below percentages are all changed to the following:

1st Year – 50% of gross sponsorship to HBL, 50% to travel team.
2nd Year – 30% of gross sponsorship to HBL, 70% to travel team.
3rd Year – Use standard percentages set forth below.

*”Local Based Business” is defined by any business in Hillsborough, Montgomery, Branchburg, Manville, Franklin, Somerville or Bridgewater

Donations:

This deals with straight donations, not packages.

If it is a Local Based Business that donates to an HBL travel team and does not donate or sponsor HBL as a whole, HBL receives 15% of the sponsorship

If it is a Local Based Business that donates to an HBL travel team and DOES donate or support HBL, HBL receives 0% of the sponsorship and the team retains 100% of the revenue raised.  Soliciting from existing sponsors requires HBL Board approval.

If it is not considered a Local Based Business, HBL receives 0% of the sponsorship and the team retains 100% of the revenue raised.
